Composite, unless you're committed to maintaining timber. A timber deck needs oiling every six months or so. Look after it and it lasts for years. Skip the upkeep and it isn't worth going down the timber path.

Both carry similar warranties. Millboard is a resin board with a fibreglass core and a soft, elastic finish, which makes it a premium, high performing product. It costs about 40% more in materials than WoodEvo and stays a little cooler underfoot. WoodEvo is the more budget friendly option and still a quality board.

It comes down to the look you're after, whether you want the timber to grey off naturally or keep its colour, and your budget. We'll talk you through the options on site and show you samples.

Cheap composite decking. It gets extremely hot in the Sydney sun and scratches easily, so it's one shortcut we won't take, even if it saves money up front.

A 10 year workmanship warranty on everything we build, well beyond the standard six. On top of that, you're covered by the manufacturer warranties on Stratco, Millboard and WoodEvo products. All Stratco patios we supply come with engineering certificates.

Yes. If your project needs approval, we coordinate the paperwork through a trusted partner so it doesn't land on you. We'll let you know early on whether your build is likely to need it.

Usually within 48 hours of our site visit. Smaller jobs are often quoted the same day. Larger projects that need pricing from other trades can take a couple of days longer.

Our lead time is usually two to three months from the day you sign. We'll give you a start date when we book you in.

Three things. Are they covered by the Home Building Compensation Fund? What materials are they using, and do those materials meet Australian standards? What warranty do they offer on their workmanship? If a quote is much cheaper, it's usually one of those three that's missing.
